I have to say, this has been one of the best blogging experiences I've had in a long time. The comments all of y'all have provided have often had me rolling with laughter. Definitely the way to start every morning, and even more than that, the best way I can think of to celebrate four years at such an awesome blog. I can't wait to see everyone stick around as we return to normal programming.
Before we get to the really, really good stuff--the extra huge pack of books we have to give away today--I want to take a moment out to thank Carrie Lofty for the work she puts in around here on a regular basis. I've always known she was the one who kept this gig running smoothly, but I never realized until I took over this week exactly what that entailed. A lot. Like, just putting up posts with pictures and silly questions has taken me hours of work. I can't imagine how much time Carrie must put in. Ms. Lofty, I tip my hat to you.
Ok, the books. What have I been holding back for today? Why, really awesome stuff. Twelve books! You read that right, twelve. All stuffed carefully in one box and mailed off to a single lucky winner. Sounds like a wonderful distraction from family and holidays!
Today's winner will get:
Elizabeth Lane:The Horseman's Bride (signed)

The Diary of Cozette; Tortured; The Master & the Muses (all signed)
Hope Tarr:Vanquished (signed)

Lisa Marie Wilkinson:Fire at Midnight; Stolen Promise (both signed)

Lisa J. Yarde:
On Falcon's Wings
Kate Bridges:Alaska Bride on the Run; Mail Order Marriages (both signed)

Seriously people, how can you top that stack? Y'all are lucky the books are actually at Carrie's house. If I had 'em, they'd probably be pre-read before they got to the winners. (Honestly, I've read most of them already. But that's just because I really do love the special zing I get from reading a great historical set somewhere different.)
We've hopefully introduced you to a lot of new Unusual Historicals authors this week. So for today's Grand Prize, tell me which UH author you're most eager to read. The winner will be drawn at random first thing next Sunday morning, just like our usual Sunday giveaways.
The usuals: Void where prohibited. Prizes can only be mailed to the US and Canada. Don't talk to strangers. (Unless they're really cute and rich.)

Lorelie Brown's first book, JAZZ BABY, is currently available from Samhain Publishing and will be released 4 January in paperback. Her second romance, an 1880s-set western, will be published by Carina Press in Summer 2011

This has been a fabulous, fun "Anniversary Bash" Thank you! I have truly enjoyed the wide variety of comments and contests : ) It's very difficult to choose one author from such an outstanding ensemble of talented writers! However, I would have to say that Monica Burns is at the top of my list with "Kismet" and also her men in black leather pants--the "Sicari Series" ; )

I only wish I was eligible to win! What great books and gorgeous covers. And what a great job you've done this week Lorelei and Carrie. Huge thanks.

I have been longing to read several of my co-UH authors. Unfortunately, I won't have much reading time until after I turn in my next book! Poor holiday planning on my part to have a book due in mid-January. ;)
Good luck to the commenters & thanks so much for stopping my our Anniversary Bash this week!
Thanks for a wonderful Anniversary Bash!!!
This has been a great bash and I will definitely be sticking around in the year ahead! Thanks for a refreshingly unusual blog and for introducing me to a whole lot of really interesting books and authors. Zoe Archer and Jeannie Lin have already gone on my Christmas list. :-)

Thank you so much, Carrie Lofty and Lorelie Brown and all the fantastic authors at UH for this amazing week! I've been thrilled to be part of it!

I love your site and your contest!!
I've been reading Zoe Archer's Blades of the Rose series, and loving it! I've been eying Monica Burn's Kismet for awhile, and so I'd have to say that's the book/author I'd love to read.
Thanks for the contest!!!
Fairly new to your site. There are lots of interesting authors here of whom I have never previously heard, much less read. What a collection of creativity. The Jazz Baby story sounds interesting; I keep meaning to check out Carrie Lofty; and Lila Di Pasqua sounds promising (retold fairy tales always are fun); Westerns are entertaining... really how to pick? I've only ever read maybe one or two of your authors. Hmmm, maybe that means I should win the variety pack? ;) My reading wishlists keep getting longer.
Thanks for this great giveaway! I've read Lisa Marie and love her books! I'm eager to read all these authors but I have to say that Monica Burns' Kismet looks delectable!
For me, that would be Zoe Archer! I can't wait to start her series!
This has been fun!

smg5775@yahoo.com
Couldn't join you the past days, because the site wouldn't come up (the DNS server of my provider had gone astray). I'm so happy that I could reach you today.
The author I'm most eager to explore is Jeannie Lin. You find so few historicals with asian settings.
Happy Holidays to all of you
Could I say all of them. Just found this website so I am learning about a lot of authors that are new to me.
I going to have to go with Diane Whiteside and Kate Bridges, their books look really good. Its been a great week.
lead[at]hotsheet[dot]com
I'm really interested in Kate Bridges--the Alaska Bride intrigues me because I grew up in Alaska. I also think I would enjoy Diane Whitesides a whole lot.
farrell@crosslake.net
Well, I still really want to read that Zoe Archer series. It's been getting great reviews. And I love romantic adventure.
What a great variety! I would love to win this one--just in time for the holidays. :)
I'd read Hope Tarr first. I've heard good things about her, and I have her on my "to buy" list.
It's been a great Anniversary Bash, thanks for sharing so much with us! I'm a bit early, but I'm impatiently waiting for Jeannie Lin's next Tang dynasty story.
I want to read all of the books, I cannot pick one author.

I'm looking forward to reading all your authors at some point in the future. I'm also currently reading Zoe Archers "Rebel", and plan to read the rest of the Blades of the Rose series next
Thank you, Unusual Historicals! Your website looks really fascinating.
I checked out the Amazon pages for the books in the giveaway. Based on the information therein, I'd say the UH author I'd most like to read is . . . all of them.
But if I absolutely MUST name just one, I'd say Elizabeth Lane. Her novels sound right up my alley.
I'm looking forward to upcoming posts. Keep up the good work!

Zoe Archer's books sound intriguing and I love the Indiana Jones looking covers, they seem to promise adventure and romance. Monica Burns Kismet cover keeps catching my eye - I'd definately pick it up in a store and check it out. Thanks for the great give a way. Stephenia (quilter892ataoldotcom)
With such a great group of authors, it's hard to choose, but I'm most eager to finish reading Zoe Archer's The Blades of the Rose series (loved Warrior).
Its hard to pick just one to look forward to! LOL. I love Margaret Mallory's books and so excited about her 'Return to the Highlanders' series that starts with THE GUARDIAN (but its May, so long a wait!) Oh and too Amanda McIntyre's Anthology THE PLEASURE GARDEN with Charlotte Featherstone and Kristi Astor (But thats April!) LOL. And those you listed, I want to say all too! But I so can't resist a cowboy and love Diane Whiteside's so that would be my first one to read! But I so looking forward to every month's releases and finding those treasures!
Caffey

Hello, hello! Thanks so much to everyone for coming out for our finale. It's been a great week of prizes and laughs, meeting new people. We hope you've found something entertaining and interesting here at our humble little site, and that'll return again.
And to those of you who mentioned me as your author to try, I'm so flattered! Thanks big bunches :)
I've have Lisa Marie Wilkinson's book on my wish list and also Amanda McIntyre. But all the books from the UH authors I've checked out so far sound great!
Monica Burns, def!
Monica Burns, definitely rather...LOL
Wow, what a great list of offerings! Would you believe I haven't read any of these books? I love Amanda's cover so that would be my first choice. Obviously, I have alot of reading to catch up on!
sandra.sookoo@comcast.net
I have to agree with the comments that say they all look great, but I think the Amanda MacIntyre ones have to win my vote. The covers are gorgeous.
Fantastic Giveaway....I would say the one I want to read most is Monica Burns "Kismet" because I have not read anything by her and it looks really good
What a wonderful giveaway! I am particularly interested in Amanda McIntyre and Monica Burns especially. But really, I would love to read all of these!
I enjoyed spending your anniversary week with you! I had lots of fun reading the responses to all of the questions.
The author that I am most interested in reading is Amanda McIntyre because I have not yet read any of her books.
Happy Anniversary! I don't think I could pick just one, they all look wonderful but if I had to I would pick Diane Whiteside.

A much harder question than it would seem. There are too many interesting books/authors listed : ( .. I'm going to have to call a tie for me.. Amanda McIntyre & Zoe Archer. I have both authors books on my wishlist, and am hoping to be able to get them soon.
Thank you for the introductions to so many authors over the past week, and for the chance at a fantastic group of books.
Good luck everyone.
I really enjoy Kate Bridges. She has strong characters. Both they and the situations they find themselves in feel very real. I have enjoyed all of her books that I have read.
You have several books in this group that are on my Wish List.

WOW--what a list! And so many authors I love...if someone held a gun to my head (antique, of course), I'd probably pick Dian..Hope...uh, Monica! I think...
If chosen, I promise to tuck them into a warm safe place, free from (too many) cookie crumbs and chocolate bits, and guard them from sloshing cups of tea. I will read them each and every one (probably more than once), and try very, very hard not to drool on the covers!
Julia
escondita_06@yahoo.com
If I *had* to choose one of them, probably Zoe Archer.
I've been wanting to try Monica Burns! So looking forward to trying all these new authors.
I'd have to say that Lisa J Yarde is the one I'm most anxious to read. I just happened to come across this site and saw your contest with her book in it. I love history. Especially that time period. I can't wait to read the book.
Linda Young
qladyhawke at gmail dot com
I really want to read your book, 'Jazz Baby' - it's a period I live but not a lot of fiction seems to be written then.
pageturner345@gmail.com
I'm not sure I can pick just one. I guess, if pressed, I would chose Zoe Archer's book. I Adore her stuff.
What a fantastic Anniversary Bash and what a grand finale! Seriously, if I could I would like to read them all.
However, since I have to choose one, and I'm hoping to hold these lovelies in my hand, I'll go with Hope Tarr! What better way, to win? Than be completely Vanquished! :-)
