Weekly Announcements - 1 Dec 07

Jacquie's Great Holiday Contest Fest is up to Week Nine! Drawing Date: Dec. 5, 2007. You could win Forced Mate by Rowena Cherry. "Author Cherry has penned a mind-blowing world in her new series. The attention to detail, the characters, it's all top-notch." ~ Kenda Montgomery, Official Reviewer for The Mystic Castle. Also available for a win is Insufficient Mating Material by Rowena Cherry. "What a fantastic read! A book full of possibilities, humor, intrigue and action. I loved it!" ~ Les Stroud, AKA "SURVIVORMAN." To enter, go to Jacquie's website and click on Contest.

Also, Jacquie has sold her second book to Highland Press, a short contemporary called Down Home Ever Lovin' Mule Blues, release date TBA. Take a look at the cover!

And Jacquie has passed on info about a raffle: Win a critique of a full manuscript from Kensington's Hilary Sares (she's going to critique 15 full manuscripts with a 2two-week turnaround), or Highland Press's Leanne Burroughs (four full manuscripts), or a 100-page partial from Dorchester's Chris Keeslar and Leah Hultenschmidt. All editors are actively acquiring. Tickets are $100 each and proceeds go to cover expenses for a very talented (and sweet) author who has been gravely ill for the past two months. The drawing will be Dec. 21, 2007, and more info can be found here.

Anne Whitfield has received two new contracts! First, Robert Hale Ltd UK has purchased her latest historical mainstream book, Woodland Daughter. Also, Enspiren Press has accepted my Victorian mainstream historical, Her Shadowed Heart for publication. This book was the first book she wrote and it has been dwelling in the bottom drawer for years. She finally brought it out and edited it dramatically (changed just about everything but the names) and found it a home.

Join us tomorrow with an interview with Jannine Corti Petska about her upcoming releases!
