New & Noteworthy: January 18

Hello readers! We have several new features to roll out for you this month, and here is the first. On the third Friday of every month, the New & Noteworthy section will bring you a digest of all the latest news from our contributors: book releases, publishing news, appearances, blog tours, and more. To get things started, here is January's round.

  • Kim Rendfeld talks about Desiderius, the last Lombard king, over at Historical Fiction Research. Her new novel, THE CROSS AND THE DRAGON, is set on the eve of the Franks’ invasion of Lombardy.
  • Blythe Gifford will be reading from her current Brunson Clan trilogy at the first anniversary celebration at Lady Jane’s Naperville on February 5. She continues a wide-ranging blog tour to celebrate the trilogy (click here to see the full schedule). The final book, TAKEN BY THE BORDER REBEL, will be on shelves in North America February 19 with electronic/UK release March 1. A free, online serial read tied into the series, TEMPTED BY THE BORDER CAPTAIN, will be on the Harlequin.com site starting February 25.
  • LOVE ME OR LEAVE ME, Stephanie Draven's first novella in her collection of 1920s erotic romances from Berkley Books, released this week with a gorgeous flapper cover. Named by RT as one of the most anticipated erotic romances of 2013, the full collection, IT STINGS SO SWEET will release in February.
